A house that calls itself recovery is not a treatment program

Someone you love is about to stay the night somewhere that says recovery, sober living, or treatment. A house can have staff and a kitchen and still not be a licensed program. The license, if there is one, may sit in an office down the street.

Before they stay, ask who is licensed, who is awake at night, and what happens if there is a medical emergency. Ask if the bed and the day program are the same place.
