Hurting after all that self-healing isn't proof you did it wrong

Healing journey, week six. Eleven tabs open, a breathing video you've watched twice, a morning routine from someone who seems to have no job. And the pain is right where you left it.

A lot of people do all the self-healing they can find online and still hurt. That's what I want to talk about.

Looking online makes sense. It's free, it's there at midnight, and nobody has to know you searched. Some of it helps, and I'm not going to say otherwise.

But most of it is written for everybody. A post can describe what a lot of people feel. It can't tell what's going on with you, because it doesn't know you. It can't notice that the sentence you rushed past was the important one. And when the first idea doesn't land, it can't change course. You get the next video.

When you do the healing alone, you're the one hurting and the one deciding what to try next. When that doesn't work either, there's nobody to ask why. Every method that fails comes back to you. Maybe you did it wrong. Maybe you didn't want it enough. Maybe you picked the wrong one out of fifty. So you open another tab.

I don't read it that way. Say you did what the video said, every morning, for six weeks, and you still hurt. That tells me one thing: you still hurt. It doesn't say you did it wrong. It doesn't say you didn't try. I can't tell from here why it hasn't lifted, and a post can't tell either.

Some things are hard to do by yourself, and it isn't because you're missing a technique. Say you're explaining something out loud, and halfway through you hear yourself say something fast and keep going. A video doesn't know you said it. Another person might. They can hear how you said it, ask the next question, and say "wait, go back to that." A coach can see your form when you can't. You can't catch yourself the way someone else can, however many videos you've seen.

I'm not saying stop looking things up. Keep the breathing video if it helps. Watch the next one if you want to. Pain that's still here after all of that is just pain that's still here. It isn't proof that you did it wrong.

If this is familiar, write me. We can set a free consultation so I can answer your questions.
