When a small thing makes you snap
You snapped at someone you love over a dish, a tone, or a text that was not even unkind. Then the shame came, and you started looking for what is wrong with you.
The small thing is often not the start. It landed on a day that was already full. Bad sleep. A look that put you back somewhere. Hours of holding it in. By the time the dish happens, your body is already at the edge. The snap is the overflow. It is not proof that you are a cruel person.
That does not make the snap harmless. It does change the question. Not “why am I like this over nothing.” What was already sitting there, before the small thing arrived.
